Trainers unite, another event is upon us, only this time, it’s the Pokemon Go Team Go Rocket Takeover, and things are about to tough. With Giovanni knowing no limits, he is about to unleash the mighty Shadow Mewtwo to help Team Rocket.

As the Team Go Rocket leaders prepare for battle, trainers need to put their best foot forward and battle to be the very best.

With bonuses and rewards galore, let’s take a look at all the Pokemon Go Team Go Rocket Takeover event details.

Team Go Rocket Takeover – The details

Commencing Monday 14th November 2022, at 12:00 am local time, and ending Thursday 17th November 2022, at 8:00 pm local time, trainers have just 4 days to complete the challenges and earn the rewards.

Team Go Rocket will be appearing more frequently at Pokestops, as well as an increased spawn rate of balloons, with them appearing every 3 hours for the duration of the event.

Team Go Rocket Takeover – Save Shadow Mewtwo

Giovanni’s greed and ambition knows no limits, and this time his machinations include using Shadow Mewtwo! A new Special Research story will be available at the beginning of this event. Progress through it to receive a Super Rocket Radar, and chase down Giovanni!

Unlike the rest of the event, Shadow Mewtwo will be available until December 1st, 2022, to enable players to collect those all-important Rocket Radar modules, and defeat Giovanni.

As well as Shadow Mewtwo, the three Team Go Rocket Leaders, Sierra, Cliff, and Arlo, will be featuring Shadow Alolan Diglett, Onix, Natu, Wailmer, and Golett.

Team Go Rocket Takeover Event Eggs plus an exclusive Shiny Pokemon!

During the event, trainers are in for a treat, with a brand new Shiny Pokemon available.

Shiny Pawniard will be making its debut. To potentially hatch a Shiny Pawniard, trainers must first collect a 12km egg by defeating the Team Go Rocket leaders.

Ultra Beast Protection Efforts

Special Research centered on Giovanni will be available to trainers during the Team Go Rocket Takeover event, and then until December 1st, 2022, at 10:00 am local time, giving trainers more time to complete the research:

  • Defeat six Team GO Rocket grunts – Ten Hyper Potions
  • Catch four Shadow Pokemon – Ten Pokeballs
  • Purify two Shadow Pokemon – Ten Pinap Berries
  • Completion Rewards – 2,000 XP, 15 Great Balls, one Rocket Radar
  • Defeat Team GO Rocket Leader Arlo – 1,500 XP
  • Defeat Team GO Rocket Leader Cliff – 1,500 XP
  • Defeat Team GO Rocket Leader Sierra – 1,500 XP
  • Completion Rewards – 2,500 XP, 1,000 Stardust, and one Super Rocket
  • Find the Team GO Rocket Boss – Five Max Potions
  • Battle the Team GO Rocket Boss – 20 Ultra Balls
  • Defeat the Team GO Rocket Boss – Five Max Revives
  • Completion Rewards – 3,000 XP, one Lucky Egg, two Golden Razz Berries

Upon completion of the tasks, players are then able to earn the XP boost rewards:

  • Claim Reward – 1,500 XP

  • Completion Rewards – 5,000 XP, 2,500 Stardust, two Silver Pinap Berries
