Pokemon Go often has resources in the game files that aren’t used right away – so here’s a list of all the unreleased Mega Pokemon in Go.

Now, for those unfamiliar with this kind of information – in short, the files and the like to make these Pokemon is already present in Pokemon Go, it just so happens that there is no intended way for players to obtain them in the game at time of writing

The unreleased Mega Evolutions of Pokemon Go

All of the following Pokemon have an unreleased Mega evolution present in the game files for Pokemon Go.

  • Alakazam
  • Kangashkhan
  • Pinsir
  • Aerodactyl
  • Mewtwo X
  • Mewtwo Y
  • Sableye
  • Mawile
  • Sharpedo
  • Banette
  • Rayquaza

These Pokemon are likely to be fully functional on top of the visual assets being ready for them, all that is missing is a means to get players hands on them in the game currently.

Of course, it’s hard to tell without being able to grab them and see what they can do, – but at the same time, the visual assets present in the game files, like the ones shown above, seem to be quite ready to go, therefore it seems a reasonable inference that the ones added to the game are simply being held back for the right time to ship out.

Is there anything else to know?

Nope, there’s not much else to know. There are of course other Pokemon stuck in a state without a mega evolution in Pokemon Go despite having one in the main series – but those ones are more because the assets haven’t been made and added to the game yet – in short, they’re not ready, unlike these few.

Although with that said, I’m planning on covering those in another piece rather than here to avoid information overload, so that should be just about everything needed for this one.
