Tapu Bulu Strengths and Weaknesses

As the legendary Pokémon is Grass and Fairy type, it is strong against Ground, Rock, Water, Dragon, Dark, and Fighting types.

On the other hand, it is naturally weak against Fire, Ice, Flying, Poison and Steel types.

In addition, it is notably vulnerable against Poison type since both Grass and Fairy types are weak against it.

Therefore, Pokémons such as Roserade and Victreebell are just some of the many Pokémons that are strong against Tapu Bulu

Tapu Bulu Recommended Moveset

We strongly recommend the fast move Bullet Seed and the charge move Grass Knot

While Bullet Seed is weaker than Rock Smash in terms of damage, it gives a lot more energy per turn. Moreover, since the legendary Pokémon is Grass-Fairy type, it will get a same-type attack bonus (STAB) for using Bullet Seed

On the other hand, Grass Knot is a good Grass-type move that only requires 50 energy to use.

For the complete set of Fast and Charge moves for Tapu Bulu in Pokémon Go, please see the list below:

Fast moves

  • Bullet Seed (Grass-type) – 5 damage and 4.3 energy per turn (1.6 damage per turn) – 3 turns
  • Rock Smash (Fighting-type) – 9 damage and 2.5 energy per turn (4 damage per turn) – 2 turns

Charged moves

  • Dazzling Gleam (Fairy-type) – 110 damage and 70 energy
  • Grass Knot (Grass-type) – 90 damage and 50 energy

Tapu Bulu’s appearance seems to have been inspired by a bull. Also, since the legendary Pokémon is from Alola, we can surmise that it was inspired by the Hawaiian god Lono which is associated with fertility, agriculture, rainfall, music and peace.
