The Pokemon Go Psychic Spectacular Event 2022 is now live, making its return to feature and celebrate Psychic Pokemon.

For the duration of the Event, trainers will encounter a whole host of Psychic Pokemon in the wild, as well as a new Psychic Spectacular Quest line, and a new Mega Raid for trainers to encounter and expand their Pokedex collection.

Let’s take a look below at all the event details!

Psychic Spectacular – The Quest

Available in Pokemon Go until Monday, 12th September at 8:00 pm (local time), the timed research Psychic Spectacular Quest sees the focus primarily on the Psychic Pokemon Elgyem. And with the event launching the Shiny Elgyem, players may encounter a Shiny to add to their collection!

‘Psychic Spectacular’ Step 1 of 1

  • Make 5 Curveball Throws – Elgyem encounter
  • Make 10 Curveball Throws – Elgyem encounter
  • Make 15 Curveball Throws – Elgyem encounter
  • Make 20 Curveball Throws – Elgyem encounter
  • Make 25 Curveball Throws – Elgyem encounter
  • Make 30 Curveball Throws – Elgyem encounter
  • Make 35 Curveball Throws – Elgyem encounter
  • Make 42 Curveball Throws – Elgyem encounter

Rewards: 30 PokeBalls, 10 Great Balls and Elgyem encounter

Psychic Spectacular Raids – Mega Alakazam and Deoxy

Making its debut in Pokemon, Mega Alakazam is the focus of raids during the Psychic Spectacular.

If trainers catch Alakazam or evolve Kadabra into Alakazam, then Alakazam will be given the Charged Attack Psychic.

There will be a special Raid Day On Sunday, September 11th, 2022, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm local time, where Deoxys will appear in all of its forms in 5-star Raids, as well as the opportunity to encounter a Shiny Deoxy.

All forms of Deoxys will appear more frequently in Raids giving trainers the opportunity to complete the Deoxy collection, as well as being able to earn up to 5 additional raid passes.

In addition to the 5* raids, Unown E, P and S will be appearing alongside Espurr in 1* raids, and Alolan Raichu, Wobbuffet, Girafarig, and Oranguru will be appearing in 3* raids.

Psychic Spectacular Field Research Tasks

For the duration of the Psychic Spectacular Event, trainers will be given access to special field research tasks to earn themselves any of the following encounters:

  • Make 5 Curveball Throws – Elgyem encounter
  • Make 5 Curveball Throws in a row reward – Chimecho encounter
  • Spin 5 PokéStops or Gyms reward – Baltoy encounter
  • Spin 15 PokéStops or Gyms reward – Hypno encounter

Psychic Spectacular Wild Encounters

With the focus being centered around Psychic Pokemon, trainers can expect to encounter the following Pokemon more frequently in the wild:

  • Abra
  • Kadabra
  • Slowpoke
  • Drowzee
  • Natu
  • Ralts
  • Kirlia
  • Spoink
  • Munna
  • Woobat
  • Gothita
  • Solosis
  • Elgyem

Gothita, Solosis, Kadabra, and Kirlia are not yet confirmed as being available in the wild as Shiny Pokemon. However, Elgyem has now been released as a Shiny Pokemon for the first time in-game, time to catch em all trainers!
