Pokemon Go: New Years Event 2022, ft. Party hat Pokemon

Pokemon Go News Years 2022

Pokemon Go is holding a new years event for 2022 starting soon, filled with party hat costumed Pokemon, and a Shiny Pokemon launch.

Shiny release

Hoothoot will be getting its shiny variant with this event – and its costume version will be able to be shiny as well.

This is actually a shiny release as well, so Shiny Hoothoot will be available after the event as well.

Anything else to mention?

There will, as always, be timed research with the event – the rewards can include 2020 glasses Slowpoke, Party hat Hoothoot, and any of the Party hat variants of the Gen-I starters, Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle – if you’re lucky enough to find those as a reward.

We’ll also be getting some new stickers from Pokestops, which I’m sure at least one player was looking forward to.
