Pokemon Go: How to evolve Yanma into Yanmega

Yanmega in the Pokemon anime

Yanmega is an ominous-looking Bug/Flying Dual-type Pokemon, but how do you obtain this fierce bug in Pokemon Go? What item do you need?

Fortunately enough, these are pretty easy questions to answer, so let’s get into it.

How to get Yanmega in Pokemon Go

Before you decide to grab yourself a Yanmega as your buddy in Pokemon Go because of how terrifying this bug would be floating beside you, you’ll need to catch a Yanma first. Actually, you’ll need quite a few. You see, evolving Yanma into Yanmega is going to cost you 100 candy alone, so make sure to grab plenty of that bug when you see it.

On the positive side, you’ll have plenty of Yanmega candidates to choose from when it finally comes time to evolve them.

With the candy and Pokemon itself now sorted out, you’ll also need a Sinnoh Stone for the evolution. Unfortunately, this isn’t a case like trading the Pokemon where it’ll reduce the cost, you’re stuck with that as a bonus cost, necessary for the evolution.

Sinnoh stones are fairly annoying items to get ahold of. Your best bet for finding them is typically claiming research breakthroughs or completing trainer battles, which means it’s a real problem for players who don’t actively PVP. You might also be able to find one through limited-time research or rare tasks, so keep an eye out.

When you’ve found yourself a Sinnoh Stone, make sure to check out the link above to be certain you want to use it for Yanmega – there are quite a few Pokemon who need these items to evolve.

Is there anything else to be aware of?

Once you’ve decided you’re sure you want Yanmega, go ahead and hit that Evolve button and you’re done here. Just make sure to check what else a Sinnoh Stone can get you, as it’s quite the list.

That’s about everything that needs to be said for Yanmega. If you’re looking for more Pokemon Go content like this guide or other news and stories, you can find them in our Pokemon Go Category, and if you’d instead like to see more by me specifically, you can find my page here.
