Magmortar is a pure Fire-type Pokemon with varied attacks that will be useful for PvP, but how do you get Magmortar in Pokemon Go? Do you need any extra items, are there any extra requirements?

Fortunately enough, these are pretty easy questions to answer, so let’s get into it.

How to get Magmortar in Pokemon Go

Like Magmortars Electric-type counterpart, Electivire, you’ll need a few things for this particular evolution, though it’s not the worst set of Pokemon Go requirements at least.

For starters, you’ll want either a Magby or Magmar to evolve – You’ll also need 125 candy for the costs of both evolutions, knock 25 of that off if starting from Magmar. On the up side by the time you’ve gathered that much candy, you should have a few potential Magmortar candidates to choose from.

With the candy and Pokemon out of the way, the last extra you’ll need is a Sinnoh Stone, which we’ll talk about next.

Sinnoh stones are fairly annoying items to get ahold of. Your best bet for finding them is typically claiming research breakthroughs or completing trainer battles, which means it’s a real problem for players who don’t actively PVP. You might also be able to find one through limited-time research or rare tasks, so keep an eye out.

When you’ve found yourself a Sinnoh Stone, make sure to check out the link above to be certain you want to use it for Magmortar – there are quite a few Pokemon who need these items to evolve.

Is there anything else to be aware of?

Once you’ve decided you’re sure you want Magmortar, go ahead and hit that Evolve button and you’re done here. Just make sure to check what else a Sinnoh Stone can get you, as it’s quite the list.

That’s about everything that needs to be said for Magmortar. If you’re looking for more Pokemon Go content like this guide or other news and stories, you can find them in our Pokemon Go Category, and if you’d instead like to see more by me specifically, you can find my page here.
