Bellossom is the Gen-2 alternative evolution to Oddish, but how exactly do you get Bellossom in Pokemon Go, and what item do you need for it?

Fortunately, this is a pretty easy one for me to answer and for you to do, so let’s get into the details.

How to get Bellossom in Pokemon Go

How to get Bellossom in Pokemon Go is an easy question to answer, but it’s a bit of a harder thing to actually do. You see, to get Bellossom you’ll need two separate things. The first of which, of course, is the Pokemon that evolves into Bellossom in the first place – in this case, that means Gloom (or Oddish). You’ll need 100 candies to evolve the Gloom into Bellossom, or 125 if you start from Oddish.

In my experience at least, Oddish has been quite hard to find. It does occasionally appear in rate up temporary events, such as the Grass-Type Friendship day back in April 2021, though looking for it in the wild will take quite some time to build up the 100+ candies you’ll need.

On the up side, when you’ve gathered enough, you’ll have plenty of possible evolutions candidates to pick from with all the Oddish you’ll have captured.

Following on from the candy and Pokemon requirements, you’ll also need a Sun Stone, which is the next thing we’ll discuss.

While Sun Stones aren’t easy to get on short notice, you have a chance at one every single time you spin a Pokestop, get your seventh-day spin streak reward, or as a reward from research tasks and potentially from gifts.

All of these different sources can build up and if you do these things regularly, you’ll probably have a few of them by the time you need them anyway.

That makes evolving Gloom into Bellossom pretty easy in Pokemon Go, as long as you have been doing those things regularly.

Is there anything else to know?

Once you’ve decided if you want Bellossom in Pokemon Go, hit the evolve button and you’re just about done here – one short evolution animation later and it’ll be added to your Pokedex.

Make sure to check out what else you can use the Sun Stone for with the article linked above though, it’s is used in four different evolutions after all.

That’s about everything that needs to be said for how to get Bellossom in Pokemon Go, really.
