Pokemon Go: East Sea Shellos Spotlight hour

East Sea shellos in the Pokemon anime

Pokemon Go is featuring East Sea Shellos in a Spotlight hour this month, making this worth a look for any fans of the Sea Slug Pokemon.

Even if you already have enough East Sea Shellos for your personal taste already, you can net doubled capture experience during this event, so it might be an idea to drop in regardless.

When is the Pokemon Go East Sea Shellos Spotlight hour?

The East Sea Shellos Spotlight hour for Pokemon Go will start on August 10th at 6:00 PM local time and will run as you might expect until 7:00 PM local time, for a duration of one hour.

Standard fare for Spotlight hours, nothing else to say there.

Local time, for anyone unfamiliar, means that you don’t need to worry about timezones because the game event will take place at that time in every timezone, so it’ll be a staggered event launch across the world.

What can we expect from the East Sea Shellos spotlight hour?

For anyone who isn’t used to this particular Pokemon Go event type, Spotlight hours are basically a one-hour long event consisting of all spawns being replaced by a single Pokemon, in this case, that means East Sea Shellos and an additional bonus.

The spawn replacing effects are quite similar to what you’d expect from a Community day, but Spotlight hours do not come with all the other extras, they are very simple affairs comparatively.

This is all great if you like East Sea Shellos, not so much if you’re not really a fan of the little Sea Slug Pokemon.

The event bonus can occasionally go some way to compensating for featured Pokemon that a trainer doesn’t want, and on this occasion, the doubled capture experience isn’t the worst bonus we could have gotten. It’s not as amazing as a stardust boost, but it is still quite useful for everyone.

Anything else to know?

If you’re still not sold, there is one last thing to consider in favour of Spotlight hours. They make excellent chances in Pokemon Go to farm for the Shiny version of the featured Pokemon, in this case, East Sea Shellos.

Unfortunately for any Shiny hunters and/or Shellos enthusiasts, neither version of Shellos seems to currently be enabled as a Shiny in Pokemon Go.

Here’s how Shiny East Sea Shellos is going to look in Pokemon Go, but sadly it’s simply not accessible yet for any Trainers.
