Pokemon Go: Diglett Spotlight hour, doubled capture Stardust

Diglett in the Pokemon anime

This week’s Spotlight hour in Pokemon Go will feature Diglett, the Mole Pokemon, as well as a doubled capture stardust bonus.

If you personally have no interest in Diglett in Pokemon Go, it’s probably worth giving the event a shot regardless to allow you to cash in on the increased Stardust gains from the doubled capture Stardust event bonus.

What can we expect from Diglett Spotlight hour?

Just in case you’re unfamiliar with Pokemon Go’s Spotlight hours, I’ll give you a quick crash course.

These events are in effect one-hour bursts of what you’d expect from a Community day – or at least, the spawns portion of one. Specifically, they’ll replace because every normal wild Pokemon spawn with the featured Pokemon for the duration.

That’ll mean Diglett for this event. Good news if you like Diglett, not so much otherwise.

Luckily for non-Diglett fans, these events usually feature an additional bonus. On this occasion, the bonus for the duration of the spotlight hour is Doubled capture Stardust. If you’ve played Pokemon Go for any significant amount of time, you probably have a good idea how useful Stardust is, so this is a very nice bonus to make use of.

When is the Pokemon Go Diglett Spotlight hour?

The Diglett Spotlight hour in Pokemon Go will start on January 11th at 6:00 PM local time and as you may expect, runs for one hour until it ends at 7:00 PM local time.

If you’re not familiar with local time – don’t worry about it, just turn up at the time above and you should catch the event just fine, it’s designed to allow Trainers to not need to worry about timezone conversion or anything along those lines.

Is there anything else worth mentioning?

The only other thing really worth considering with these events is whether or not they can be used as an easier way to farm for a specific Shiny Pokemon or not – and luckily for you, Trainer, Diglett is enabled as a Shiny at all times right now, so you can encounter them as a Shiny form during the Spotlight hour.
