Pokemon Go: Bidoof Breakout event 2021

Bidoof Breakout Event Pokemon Go 2021

Pokemon Go has gone off the rails with one of the upcoming events, Bidoof breakout! You’ve probably guessed already, but theres a lot of Bidoof involved.

Like seriously, a hell a lot of a Bidoof. Pokemon Go is about to be flooded by them. Bidoof breakout is an exceedingly accurate name.

When does Bidoof Breakout start in Pokemon Go?

The Pokemon Go Bidoof Breakout event starts on the 25th of June at 10:00 AM local time, and lasts until the 1st of July at 8:00 PM local time. If you’re not familiar with local time, it means your timezone, wherever you are.

I can’t say I’ve been around long enough to have seen Bidoof Breakout before if it’s not new, so I’m not sure if this is a normal event duration, but for something that seems to basically be Bidoof Insanity, just shy of a week is a fairly long time.

What can we expect?

Absolute chaos. Possibly.

More realistically, a hell of a lot of Bidoof it seems. How many you may be wondering? Well, Bidoof is getting added to the Team Rocket Pokemon roster, Wild Spawns and even getting the Shiny Treatment.

So in short, a lot of Bidoof will show up all over the game. Some Bidoof might be shiny Bidoof. If you fight Team Rocket, you’ll probably find Shadow Bidoof. Bidoof will be showing up in raids and research too, just in case you thought you’d be safe there.

Oh, and if you think it’s bad at the start of the event, don’t worry. The spawn rate is expected to increase throughout the event. It’ll be like a zombie apocalypse consisting purely of Bidoof.

If that’s not enough for you, luckily for you that’s not all the event has planned either.

What else?

Glad you asked. First of all, there’ll be some good bonuses. You can expect scaling bonus experience modifiers as shown below. And as a reminder, all times are local time.

  • Doubled Capture XP from 10:00 AM June 25th until June 26th at 11:59 PM
  • Tripled Capture XP from 12:00 AM June 27th until June 28th at 11:59 PM
  • Quadrupled Capture XP from 12:00 AM June 29th to June 20th at 11:59 PM

As someone who isn’t a fan of Bidoof much if at all (Heresy, I know) those are some pretty good bonuses compared to most events. And for those of you who are Bidoof fans, the good times haven’t stopped just yet because there’s still more to cover.

Bidoof Breakout teaches new tricks to an old… mouse

You see, during certain days of the event, the Bidoof you encounter will know moves that… they probably shouldn’t know. On top of that, on July 1st, the last day of the event, you’ll be able to teach Bidoof any of the attacks featured during the event.

If you’re wondering what kind of moves we’re talking about, I mean stuff like Shadow Ball. Things Bidoof has no business knowing. The complete list with their available times is below:

  • Shadow Ball – Available from June 25th 10:00 AM to June 26th 11:59 PM.
  • Thunderbolt – Available from June 27th 12:00 AM to June 28th 11:59 PM.
  • Ice Beam – Available from June 29th 12:00 AM to June 30th 11:59 PM.

Still not enough? Try evolving a Bidoof during the event. The Bibarel you’ll get from it will know Hyper Beam.

Is that everything?

That’s pretty much everything yes, the only other things in the event are some new Stickers (More Bidoof, surprisingly) and how Shiny Bidoof/Bibarel looks in game, which I’ll include below.

In short, Bidoof but quite literally shiny, given it’s now a nice gold-ish shade. And if you’re a fan, the good news is you’ll have plenty of chances to catch Bidoof during this event, so you’ll almost certainly find it.

In any case, that’ll be all for this piece on the Bidoof breakout event in Pokemon Go, good luck trainers!
