Pokemon Go: BDSP Celebration Event
Pokemon Go is holding a Celebration Event for the release of Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl (BDSP), featuring new items and spawns.
What can we expect from the BDSP event?
The event will feature costumed Pokemon, a collection challenge, plenty of spawn adjustments, egg and raid changes, and the usual slew of new stickers, avatar items and bundles, all of which will be covered below.
The event also has two constant bonuses to incubators – basic incubators will need only half distance to hatch an egg, while super incubators will need only one-third of the typical distance to hatch.
When does the Pokemon Go BDSP Celebration event start?
The Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl Event in Pokemon Go will start from the 16th of November at 10:00 AM Local time, and runs until the 21st of November at 8:00 PM local time.
The actual Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl Pokemon Games will release on November 19th for the Switch, during this event.
If you plan on playing both, make sure to get as much of the Pokemon Go event done as you can in advance before the main series games distract you.
Pokemon Go BDSP event features
Costumed Pokemon and the Collection Challenge
The BDSP event will feature Lucas’s hat and Dawn’s hat version of the region starters, Piplup, Turtwig and Chimchar. These costumed variants are shown below.
You’ll need to capture all 6 of them in total to complete the event collection challenge, for a reward of 1000 XP, 3000 Stardust and an encounter with Froslass.
Eggs
Eggs are identical throughout both halves of the event, so you can expect to find any of the following Pokemon in 7km Eggs during the event:
- Budew
- Bonsly
- Mime Jr.
- Happiny
- Riolu
As a reminder, Pokemon listed in bold throughout the article can be found as a shiny variant.
