Pokemon Go Festival of Lights October 2022: Exclusive Research tasks and rewards

As the Festival of Lights continues to illuminate the world around us, trainers can embark upon 3 days of exclusive timed research with a vast array of rewards from Pokeballs to an exciting new Avatar pose that sees your Avatar waving a sparkler from side to side.

Not only that, but Morelull and Shiinotic will be making their in-game debut this weekend, with the Illuminating Pokemon set to dazzle in all their glory.

Let’s take a look below at all of the tasks and those all-important rewards.

Festival of Lights Timed Research

Beginning Friday, October 14th, 2022, 10:00 am and ending Monday, October 17th, 2022, 8:00 pm, trainers will have the opportunity to earn various rewards by completing the Festival of Lights exclusive timed research.

Step 1 of 2

  • Catch 25 Pokemon – 25 Pokeballs
  • Hatch 2 Eggs – Morelull encounter
  • Make 15 Nice Throws – 20 Great Balls
  • Make 10 Great Throws – 10 Ultra Balls
  • Make 5 Curveball Throws – 10 Pinap Berries
  • Use 10 Berries to help catch Pokemon – Dedenne encounter

Rewards: Galarian Ponyta and 2,500 XP

Step 2 of 2

  • Catch 25 Pokemon – 25 Poke Balls
  • Walk 5 km – Three Golden Razz Berries
  • Make 15 Nice Throws – 20 Great Balls
  • Make 10 Great Throws – 10 Ultra Balls
  • Spin 25 PokeStops or Gyms – Three Silver Pinap Berries
  • Take snapshots of 10 different wild Pokemon – Litwick encounter

Rewards: Sparkler Avatar Pose and 2,500 XP

Festival of Lights – Field Research Tasks

And that’s not all trainers, a series of Field Research tasks are also available for the duration of the event:

  • Catch 5 Pokemon -Chinchou encounter
  • Catch 10 Pokemon – Blitzle encounter
  • Catch 15 Pokemon  – Morelull encounter
  • Hatch an Egg – Galarian Ponyta encounter
  • Power up a Pokemon five times – Dedenne encounter
  • Send five Gifts to Friends with a Sticker attached -Electabuzz or Magmar encounter

And there we have it, trainers. With only 3 days to complete the challenges, now is the time to get outdoors, hatch those eggs, and reap all the rewards!
