Pokemon Go Shiny Jirachi will soon be available – but it comes at a price
We all love a new Shiny Pokemon in Pokemon Go, and following the news this weekend, Shiny Jirachi will soon be flying into your collection – however, it will cost you.
First released back in the 2019 Go Fest as part of a Special Research quest, Jirachi was available for all trainers to catch upon completion, but up until now, Shiny Jirachi has not been made available.
Let’s take a look below at all the details of how to bag yourself the Mythical Shiny Jirachi.
The Wish Pokemon
Jirachi is a Steel-Psychic type Pokemon, first introduced in Generation 3 of the Pokemon games, and is one of the hardest Pokemon to obtain. This is no different in Pokemon Go.
Having already had a chance to collect Jirachi, the prospect of a Shiny Jirachi is exciting news for all trainers.
How to obtain Shiny Jirachi
Over the weekend, Niantic announced:
“Wishes can come true—just ask Jirachi, the Wish Pokemon! Trainers around the world will be able to purchase Masterwork Research to encounter Shiny Jirachi! Masterwork Research provides Trainers with an opportunity to take on difficult challenges and daunting tasks, which are rewarded with a spectacular discovery!”
This kind of research is normally difficult to complete, however, the rewards are most certainly worth it with the guarantee of a Shiny Jirachi at the end of it.
Like all Mythical Pokemon, they are difficult to obtain in the game, so for avid Pokedex collectors, this will be an event you don’t want to miss.

The Masterwork Research Ticket can be purchased for $4.99, or the local currency equivalent, from the in-game shop. Tickets will be available during the Pokemon Go Tour Hoenn Global event, from February 20, 2023, to March 20, 2023.
Once trainers have purchased the ticket, the Masterwork Research will then become available. Upon completion of the research tasks, trainers will then encounter Shiny Jirachi.
