Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel: Redditor reveals Konami code easter egg

I don’t know if this counts as going full circle or backwards, but now there’s even a Konami code easter egg in a Konami game, Master Duel.

A new reddit thread posted to /r/YuGiOhMasterDuel by u/Ojama-King today has revealed a fresh bit of news regarding Easter Eggs in Yu Gi Oh Master Duel, featuring the legendary Konami Code.

To activate the easter egg, you’ll need to navigate from the main menu screen into the settings menu, and then access the Credits screen. From here, interact with the Enemy Controller in the bottom right-hand corner of your display and enter ‘Up up down down left right left right B A.’

The code will activate immediately if done correctly, and changes the music to a cool Retro Style version of it the usual theme – it would have been hard to recommend the easter egg if it used different music entirely given how great the Master Duel theme actually is – as well as swapping the font for a much more arcadey appearance.

It is a pretty small thing as far as Easter Eggs go, but it’s always fun finding these little in-jokes and references in-game. The Konami code at this stage is pretty legendary for turning up like this in a wide variety of games, and now it’s even back to making appearances in Konami titles all over again.
