Xbox + Bethesda Summer Game Fest Event: How to watch and what to expect

Summer Game Fest is drawing to a close with only two more presentations to take place, one being from Capcom and the other being the Xbox + Bethesda event. The Summer Game Fest has unofficially taken over from E3 which was canceled earlier this year and normally takes place at this time.

Microsoft’s Xbox + Bethesda event should be one of the most exciting from Summer Game Fest as the company will be set to unveil and give more information on many of its latest titles. Xbox purchased Bethesda in 2021 adding many top IPs and studios to its existing Xbox Game Studios brand, making it one of the largest brands in gaming.

Here is everything we know about the Xbox + Bethesda Summer Game Fest event including how to watch it and what to expect from the presentation.

How to watch the Xbox + Bethesda Summer Game Fest event

The Xbox + Bethesda Summer Game Fest event will take place today, Sunday June 12th, at 1 pm EST/6 pm BST.

Gamers can tune into the presentation on the official Summer Game Fest YouTube channel or by clicking the embedded video below.

What to expect from the Xbox + Bethesda Summer Game Fest event

The Xbox + Bethesda Summer Game Fest event will be where the company is looking to reveal lots of information regarding what fans can expect from its vast array of studios over the coming months and into the following year. With lots of indie and AAA studios under its belt, there will likely be lots of reveals and information.

Microsoft and Summer Game Fest will also be allowing fans into the venue to view the event live, something we haven’t really seen in a long time, so it should hopefully improve the atmosphere and give an E3 vibe.

Here are some of the things we think could be seen as the event, as well as some wishlist announcements.

Goldeneye Remastered

Goldeneye Remastered was originally scheduled to release on the Xbox 360 back in 2009 and the game was approximately 90% completed before it was canceled.

Now it looks like the game is finally set to be released after the Goldeneye Remastered achievement list was recently leaked and showed that Xbox employees had unlocked some of them, signaling these weren’t related to the original 2009 remaster.

It is very likely that Xbox could be set to announce Goldeneye Remastered at Summer Game Fest. And if they do, NO ODDJOB!

Fable

First announced in 2020, Fable is getting a reboot with the first new mainline entry in over a decade. Since its initial reveal, which didn’t provide much except a logo, nothing has been said about the game.

With another couple of years of development under their belt, now would be the perfect time to finally reveal more information, and hopefully a release date, on the Fable reboot.

Like Fable, Perfect Dark is finally getting a reboot too. The series really did get the short end of the stick, with the first entry being a beloved N64 title, which was followed by an Xbox 360 launch title called Perfect Dark Zero, and then the series has remained dormant ever since.

Xbox’s latest studio The Initiative will be heading up development alongside Crystal Dynamics and the game could become a key part of Xbox’s release strategy in the future.

The Elder Scrolls VI Release Date

There’s a bit of a pattern here as The Elder Scrolls VI was revealed back in 2018 with just the logo confirming its existence. Since then, Bethesda has been completely silent regarding The Elder Scrolls VI.

At the time, Bethesda wasn’t part of Xbox but now the game is just another unfinished game in Xbox’s catalog. It has been four years since the game was announced so we hope that means some new information will finally be released, especially as they made a point of saying the event is a joint effort between Xbox and Bethesda.

Xbox Game Pass

Xbox Game Pass is Microsoft’s key tool in the console war, providing incredible value to gamers with hundreds of games to play all for one monthly fee.

One of the best features of the service is that all of Microsoft’s first and second-party games will release on Game Pass on day one, meaning all of the titles mentioned above will eventually launch on the service.

It is possible that Microsoft could announce some new features for Xbox Game Pass. In the past, they have joined forces with the likes of EA to bring EA Play Games to Game Pass.

There has been a long-standing rumor that Xbox could be putting Game Pass on Steam, which would be a great announcement to make during the Summer Game Fest event.
