Hotta Studio recently tweeted answers to questions about the global version of Tower of Fantasy. They addressed cheating, data transfer, and plans.

A recent tweet of the official Tower of Fantasy Twitter account posted their appreciation for their loyal players. The bulk of the message was about the upcoming patch 1.5 update. A separate post on their website included details about the Artificial Island they plan to launch on their global servers this month.

The post added more in-game events such as more multiplayer raids and features of the Artificial Island. The in-game events they plan to launch include Supply Runs, the Aida Café, and more. If you are just logging in to your server, you can check your mail to receive a letter the game developers have recently sent to their players.

Hotta Studio on cheating in Tower of Fantasy

The China-based game developer promised its players of more stringent anti-cheat data analysis in-game. They have confirmed that illegally obtaining resources through external cheating or hacking programs will put anyone’s account suspended and possibly terminated in the future. Once proven, the player will be listed in a post that would include all the usernames of those identified to have involved their account in those activities. They also mentioned that this would lead to the permanent banning of the player.

They will also hasten their processing of verification results and mandate penalties for breaching the contract signed by the user when they created their account. They urge their players to report any accounts that they may be suspected of cheating in-game.

A previous post of similar nature was also released by Hotta Studio previously. That time, it provided the players with a more concrete plan of action from Hotta Studio, including the name of all the players that were banned because of their involvement in illegal activities in-game.

Hotta Studio on data transfer and global expansion

On the question of whether or not players would be able to switch servers in the future, Hotta Studio gave a brief answer. They mentioned that this is a plan they wanted to share with their global version players, but it was not something that could not be implemented right away due to security issues in players’ accounts.

Despite the clamor on various social media platforms, the success of the Tower of Fantasy cannot be disputed. A recent Reddit thread mentioned that the game racked up a revenue above 34 Million USD within the first two weeks of its release.

When asked about possibly opening their game to other countries, their answer was not what international players expected. They mentioned multiple factors that have challenged Hotta Studio from expanding. This includes the “time required for localization, as well as some local regulatory requirements and other reasons.”

The game developers urged their players to look out for any letters they send in-game through their “Letter to Wanderers” and “Dev’s Report.” Hotta Studio also promises to remain open to feedback to improve its game. In the meantime, they will continue to mix additional content for the game as it patters to their Chinese version.

The patch 1.5 updates will be released on September 15, 2022. More details will be released by Hotta Studio then.
