HBO’s The Last Of Us Series Cast Revealed

Video game adaptations have always been a mixed bag, with some turning out really good, such as the Castlevania anime or The Witcher series, and some have turned out really bad such as the Super Mario Bros movie.

With the recent releases of Castlevania and The Witcher, it seems that gaming adaptation may finally be taking a step in the right direction.

Since its announcement, fans of The Last of Us series have been eagerly waiting to see who will be playing Joel and Ellie in the HBO adaptation. The series has Chernobyl’s Craig Mazin and the game’s director Neil Druckmann working on its development.

Today, after yesterday’s reveal that Game of Thrones‘s breakthrough star Bella Ramsey would be playing Ellie, Deadline revealed, exclusively, that Mandaloria’ns star Pedro Pascal will be starring as Joel Miller. 

In the games, Joel is played and voice by Troy Baker and Ellie by actress Ashley Johnson.

Pascal is best known for playing Din Djarin, the protagonist of The Mandalorian, and its title character. Bella Ramsey is best known for playing young Lyanna Mormont in the Game of Thrones Series. You can watch both of them in action on Disney Plus and on HBO GO.

The Last of Us was first released for the PlayStation 3 in 2013, sweeping the gaming community off its feet and becoming one of the best, and more awarded games of all time. Since then, the title received a remaster released to the PlayStation 4, looking better than ever.  

Its long-awaited sequel The Last of Us Part II was released in June of last year, and even though it divided its fanbase at first, won seven awards, including ”Game of the Year”, at The Game Awards.

You can play both tiles right now, on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
