The Last of Us Part 1 PS5 release date announced, will come to PC later

Initially released for Playstation 3 in 2013, The Last of Us has received praises for its visuals, narrative, gameplay, and sound design. It was considered one of the best-selling video games and has won several awards including the Game Developers Choice Award for the same year.

After almost a decade, The Last of Us Part 1 is finally coming to PS5 and PC. While there is still no exact date for the PC version, the PS5 version is announced to be released on September 2, 2022. Naughty Dog’s Neil Druckmann has confirmed this during the Summer Game Fest.

Together with Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson, Druckmann said that the game animations have been enhanced while having maintained their original performances. Moreover, the game features new combat options, 60FPS performance, and new enemy AI based on The Last of Us Part 2.

Apart from this, PlayStation has also released a blog post about the game, stating:

The Last of Us released almost a decade ago on the PlayStation 3 console, and it’s left an indelible mark on our studio. Joel and Ellie’s story continues to be powerfully evocative with players worldwide, and we’re humbled these characters continue to leave an impression.

With leaps in technology and hardware that allow us to push the limits of the visual fidelity and interactivity, we’re thrilled to announce this complete remake of The Last of Us, releasing September 2, 2022 for the PlayStation 5 console and in development for PC.
