Steam is down! When will it be fixed?

Steam has become ingrained in PC gaming, with Valve’s storefront being the largest on the market with tens of thousands of games housed on it.

So, when the platform goes down and experiences outages, it can affect millions of gamers who are unable to purchase games, use various features of Steam, and in some instances be unable to play certain games.

According to Services Down, Steam is currently experiencing an outage for the Steam Community and WebAPI, which mainly affects the store and certain game features.

The outage reportedly began at 18:36:08 EST, so it has been happening for approximately 20 minutes at the time of publication.

Platform outages are very rare, especially for Valve, with it only occurring every so often and it is usually fixed very quickly.

However, as of right now it hasn’t been publicly acknowledged by Valve, although their support account on Twitter isn’t active these days.

It is very likely that Valve will have this problem fixed in a timely manner, and we will update this with any updates on the outage.

The good news is, that the outage shouldn’t affect the vast majority of games on the platform, so even if you can’t purchase a new game you can still play through your current ones.

Let’s face it, you don’t need a new game, you have 500 unplayed already.
