Steam Deck: Xbox Cloud Gaming is now playable

Steam Deck Game Pass

The Steam Deck has finally arrived, although good luck trying to get one at the minute, with the new handheld console allowing gamers to play the majority of their Steam library on the go.

In addition to being able to play the majority of your Steam library, the Steam Deck is also capable of playing non-Steam games, although some will require the device to be modded.

But, Microsoft is officially working with Valve to bring Xbox Cloud Gaming to the Steam Deck via the Microsoft Edge beta browser.

Xbox Cloud Gaming is Microsoft’s cloud gaming service that is part of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, allowing gamers to play over 330 titles without the need of installing the game on a device such as an Xbox or PC. This also allows for games that were never released on PC to be playable on it, such as Halo 5.

Getting Xbox Cloud Gaming to work on the Steam Deck appears to be fairly simple, and Microsoft has released a handy guide to help players get it working.
