Gamestop cancels Resident Evil 4 Remake Collector’s Edition despite exclusivity

Resident Evil 4 Remake is right around the corner and many fans of the series and original game are counting down until the game unlocks and can finally be played on March 24th.

Well, not everyone will be as it looks like a group of the most dedicated fans won’t be getting the game on March 24th.

Despite an exclusivity deal, GameStop will not be fulfilling orders of the Resident Evil 4 Remake Collector’s Edition.

As reported by Wario64, GameStop has announced that they will be unable to fulfill the orders of the Resident Evil 4 Remake Collector’s Edition in the US.

“If you pre-ordered Resident Evil 4 Collector’s Edition IN-STORE at GameStop – they just issued a memo stating the CE won’t arrive in stores and will not be fulfilled/arriving.

Does not mention anything about online orders, so I assume online orders are not affected”

As of right now, there is only information regarding in-store orders, so it is possible that online orders will still be fulfilled.

There is currently no statement on whether this is due to a production issue by Capcom or whether this is GameStop’s fault and an issue on their end.

It still looks like the Resident Evil 4 Remake Collector’s Edition will be available in other countries, including at GAME in the UK.
