Project Athia release window and final name revealed

Forspoken is the official title for Project Athia

The final name for the upcoming Square Enix game “Project Athia” has been revealed, along with a release window as well as other details.

Titled “Forspoken“, the new IP developed by Luminous Productions and published by Square Enix is said to be a PS5 exclusive title for two years before coming to PC as well. The game has a new website to reflect the new name as well.

There is no exact release date as of yet but a tentative “Coming 2022” window was shown in the new trailer. A more narrow Q1/Q2 is a reasonable supposition for the game, but that is speculative.

In the latest trailer in the Square Enix Presents event, the voice actor and motion capture artist for the main character Frey Holland was revealed to be Ella Balinska. The actress is known for her role as Jane Kano from the 2019 reboot of Charlie’s Angels.

Forspoken is said to be a narrative-driven adventure set in a “beautiful yet cruel world”. Frey Holland, an ordinary young woman, must harness her magical abilities to survive in the fantastical yet dangerous land of Athia.
