New Forza Horizon 5 screenshots showcase Mexican biomes

Forza Horizon 5 is set to be Microsoft’s first entry in the series on their next-gen systems, the Xbox Series X and S.
Having all of that power under the hood (no pun intended), will no doubt allow Turn 10 to bring the world to life in ways that weren’t possible previously, as well as looking stunning.
Although we are still a few months away from release of Forza Horizon 5, Microsoft and the Xbox team have given us a look at what we can expect from the new game when it launches later this year.
Forza Horizon 5 Biomes Revealed
In a recent Xbox Wire blog, Microsoft revealed the 11 biomes that will be available to explore throughout Forza Horizon 5.
With the game set in Mexico, we can expect to see tropical beaches, beautiful urban cities, desert terrain, the jungle, and even a volcano.
In the blog post, Microsoft promised that Forza Horizon 5 is the “largest, most diverse open world ever in a Forza Horizon game, with a vibrant, ever-evolving landscape and limitless driving action in hundreds of the world’s greatest cars.”
Check out each of the biomes below.
First revealed in the trailer in June, the Canyon biome features many rocky terrains, as well as a very echoey soundscape as cars race through the mountains.
Tropical Coast
Palm trees, seagulls, white sand beaches and calm waters, everything you expect from a relaxing vacation in Mexico. But, watch out for storm season because things can get wild very quickly.
Farmland
Filled with lush vegetation, the Farmlands biome is a stark contrast from many of the other biomes that have been revealed.
Arid Hills
A biome for those that like to take things off-road, one of the coolest features in this biome is a lake that actually dries up in the winter season, opening up shortcuts via fast passages and secret areas.
Jungle
Filled with towering trees, waterfalls and long rivers, the Jungle biome features hidden temples that are based on real locations in Mexico.
Living Desert
Forza Horizon 5 features a cactus desert that’s full of towering saguaros. There are also a number of rock formations and rock piles that are unique to the area. As the name implies, it’s full of life and features plenty of flowers and wildlife.
Rocky Coast
Not all beaches feature palm trees and white sands. The Rocky Coast is quite the opposite, with its rocky terrain coupled with a beautiful view of the ocean. Players will also be able to take a detour through a golf course.
Sand Desert
Mexico is known for its vast deserts, so of course, they would be featured in Forza Horizon 5. This biome is perfect for taking the buggy for a spin and kicking up the sand as you speed through the desert.
Swamp
The shallow waters that are surrounded by thick mangrove trees make this a very unusual, but incredibly fun location to take your latest car for a spin.
Players will also be able to smash through trees during a race, unlocking new routes to explore that can also be used to get ahead.
Urban City of Guanajuato
There are many beautiful cities throughout Mexico, with Turn 10 choosing to showcase Guanajuato in Forza Horizon 5. Featuring many rolling hills and tunnels, Guanajuato will be a very place to race.
Volcano
A first for the series, players will be able to put their pedal to the metal on top of a very high-altitude volcano. This will also be the only place in the game where snow can fall.
Forza Horizon 5 releases on November 9th 2021 on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Windows Store and Steam.
The game will also be available on day one on Xbox Game Pass on both console and PC.
