The hit platform fighting game has its Season 1 in full swing next week, August 15. After an unexpected delay, the first season is finally kicking off.

It was about a week ago when the official Twitter account of MultiVersus tweeted about the extension of their preseason and, consequently, the change of the start date of the first season. The original release date of the first season was supposed to be August 9. Specific details were provided when they decided to move the dates.

The hit game from DC and Warner Bros. Games did confirm that they are breaking down the updates for Season 1. From new characters, new cosmetics, and more surprising events. Here is a breakdown of the known details of their first Season.

The first Season will kick off on August 15. This will officially open players to the new season’s Battle Pass that allows them to earn in-game rewards.

Currently, this free-to-play fighting game has 17 playable characters. Unlocking all the characters is one of the main goals of all the players of the game. The game developers did confirm that Rick and Morty are slated to be added to the roster. However, they added that “everything we are bringing to you in Season 1 will not drop on the same day.”

Initially, Morty was to be part of the opening of season 1. This clearly has changed as a recent tweet from MultiVersus mentioned, “We can also confirm Morty will join the character roster on August 23 as part of Season 1.” There has been no information provided as to when Rick is going to enter the scene.

There have been rumors that if the game continues to soar the charts, the developers plan to add Fred Flintstone and Harry Potter to their wacky roster. However, there has been no confirmation of this information.

Multiversus has been in open beta since July 26 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
