Judgment gameplay on PS4

According to announcement trailers for the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, Judgment, a former PS4-exclusive, will now be arriving on both next-gen console platforms as well as Google Stadia.

The announcement trailers give us an idea of how the game will look on next-gen consoles, with “refined visuals” and “smooth 60 FPS gameplay”. Check out the announcement trailer from SEGA below.

The popular detective action-adventure game set in Kamurocho, the same fictional city in the Yakuza series, will be remastered for the next-gen consoles and will be released on April 23, 2021. The game will also include improved load times and all previously-released DLC and will cost $39.99.

Judgment was originally released on the PlayStation 4 and centered around Takayuki Yagami, a former defense attorney who attempts to redeem himself as a private detective. He investigates Kamurocho’s underground crime network and works to find the truth behind a string of murders.

The game has received great reviews since its initial release in Japan in 2018 and was said by The Verge to be one of the best detective games made. It is also a great place to start for those who have never explored the city of Kamurocho in the Yakuza series before, as well as for those who are veteran Yakuza fans as it looks very similar to the Yakuza series, but shows the city from a different lens.

The upgraded visuals and gameplay for Judgment on the PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Google Stadia certainly make it worth picking up on these next-gen consoles. The only catch is that those who own the PlayStation 4 version will not be able to upgrade to the PlayStation 5 version for free.
