Horizon Forbidden West may be delayed to 2022, according to a Bloomberg article released today. A rumor about the game being delayed by Sony surfaced yesterday, and it seems that a new reliable source has confirmed it.

The game was previously scheduled to be released late 2021, but there was no official release date revealed, which gives credibility to the rumor. The article, however, doesn’t state any specific reason for the delay.

The game is going to be the first sequel to Horizon Zero Dawn, initially a Playstation 4 exclusive released in 2017 by Guerrilla Studios and Sony Interactive Entertainment. Zero Dawn arrived on PCs a few years later, in 2020, with some port problems that took quite a while to be actually fixed.

Horizon Zero Dawn puts us in the role of Aloy, a hunter living in a post-apocalyptic scenario where we must confront the gigantic machines that inhabit this new world, while exploring this strange and beautiful place and discovering how to survive in it.

Horizon Forbidden West was announced in 2020, and will bring Aloy back while she continues her journey into new and even more dangerous places. Heading to the west, we’ll find this world’s version of America, where many new threats await her. The game will be released for Playstation 4 and Playstation 5, possibly in the first quarter of 2022. No PC version was announced yet.
