Great Ace Attorney Localization Incoming?

Great Ace Attorney Localization

For nearly a decade since its release in Japan on the Nintendo 3DS, Ace Attorney fans have been anxiously awaiting the Great Ace Attorney Duology getting localized and making its way to the West. After Ace Attorney Investigations 2 didn’t get a localization, it seemed all hope for spin offs of the Ace Attorney franchise were doomed to being Japan only with the hope being fan translations.

In November 2020, Capcom’s data was breached and files released to the public that weren’t meant to be out. Among the news was a localization of both Great Ace Attorney games coming to both Nintendo Switch and PS4. Additionally it would contain the original trilogy and added bonus content like animations and such. Fans were excited but skeptical, waiting for more substantial talk from Capcom to confirm their hopes.

While that hasn’t happened yet, a leak on Nintendo recently surfaced showing off four new ports. Among these is the Great Ace Attorney localization mentioned before releasing on Nintendo Switch, PS4, and PC. The first leak mentioned not only a full translation of the two, but even an English dubbing as well, making it a full localization.

This isn’t 100% confirmed by any means, but both seemingly unrelated leaks showing the same Ace Attorney news is great to hear for fans of the series, and likely means Capcom has more faith in the series now than before. Hopefully, the success of Professor Layton Vs Phoenix Wright and Ace Attorney: Spirit of Justice showed the passion fans have for the series. We just have to keep watching to see the potential announcement trailer.
