Gamers want to see this skater in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 Remake

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 and 2 next-gen gameplay

Since the release of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 Remastered in 2020, fans of the classic skateboarding series have been hoping that Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 and 4 will be receiving the remake treatment next.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 was first released on the PlayStation 1 and 2, Gamecube, Xbox, Gameboy Color and Advance, and PC back in 2001 and was the first entry in the series to release on the sixth generation of consoles and was a huge leap forward for the series following the first two entries releasing during the previous generation.

Although the series has definitely seen its heyday come and go, it still has a large cult following as well as mainstream appeal, which was evident by the release of THPS 1+2 Remastered, with the game remaking the levels of the first two games and bringing the mechanics up to modern-day standards.

Now, fans of the series are looking at Activision and Vicarious Visions for any scrap of news regarding a remake of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 and 4, and one fan has a request for a skater they’d like to see.

In a Reddit post, the user posted a clip of a 73-year-old man skating, with it mentioning that he had been skating for over 40 years.

Although skateboarding has been around since the 1940s, it wasn’t until the 1970s that it began to be shaped into what it is today.

Judging by the Reddit clip, it is clear to see that, despite being 73 years old, the skater was a veteran of the sport and had great control of the board as he cruised down the path.

Towards the end of the clip, he bailed and had to jump off and it was very surprising to see him jump off the board like he was 50 years younger. Clips like this prove that if you’ve got your health then age really is a number because from a distance most people would have assumed he was in his 20s.

With THPS 1+2 Remastered showing the skaters at the age they are now rather than what they were during the game’s original release, it would be great to see the developers add a really old skater to THPS 3 remake to show how old some of the original skaters would be, such as the gentlemen in this clip.

As of right now, the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 remake hasn’t been officially announced, but with THPS 1+2 Remastered selling 1 million copies in its first two weeks, becoming the second biggest launch ever for the series, it makes sense that more Tony Hawk’s games will be coming in the future.

But for now, skateboarding fans can look towards EA’s Skate franchise which is seeing a revival, with the last game released back in 2011. It has been leaked that EA is hosting an internal playtesting event for a new Skate game this week, which could indicate that the next entry in the series is set to be announced very soon.
