Fortnite servers down due to major outage

Fortnite Servers Down December 29 2021

UPDATE: The Fortnite servers are now back online and the game can be launched. The Epic Games status site is still showing major outages so things may be hit and miss for a while.

Original Story

Fortnite’s servers are currently down due to a major outage with players unable to log in to the game.

It is unclear what caused the issue, but Epic Games has decided to pull the game completely while they investigate the problem.

This isn’t the first time this month that Fortnite has experienced major server issues, when Fortnite Chapter 3 launched earlier this month many players were unable to log into the game for an extended period of time.

In a tweet, Epic Games announced that they had taken the game offline while they investigate and fix the issue saying,

“Fortnite is currently unavailable and players are unable to log-in while we investigate an issue. We’ll provide more info when we have a solution to bring services back online.”

When players try and log into Fortnite they will be met be a countdown timer stating they are in a queue, but this will just endlessly loop until the game is back online.

Rocket League is also experiencing some issues with logging in and its Game Services, but it remains playable.

Hopefully, this outage won’t last for too long, and we will update this if there are any more major developments.
