Fortnite Chapter 3 only began in December 2021, and players are currently enjoying Season 4, which has been one of the more eventful of the chapter so far.

Despite Chapter 3 only being out for one year, it has now been confirmed that Epic Games is gearing up to move on from it and head to Chapter 4 once this season ends.

Here is everything we know so far.

Fortnite Chapter 4 Announced

During the recent Fortnite FNCS Invitational tournament, which marks the first in-person LAN event that Epic Games has held since the 2019 Fortnite World Cup, it was announced that the Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4 event would be the “Finale Event.”

In the past, this has signaled that a chapter is coming to an end, and this is the final event before players are launched into a new map, and the next chapter begins.

With the promotional image not saying “Chapter 3 Season 4 Finale Event,” this indicates that the event will mark the end of Chapter 3, which has only been around for one year, making it the shortest chapter so far by over 50%.

Previously, Chapter 1 ran from September 2017 to October 2019, while Chapter 2 ran from October 2019 to December 2021.

The new Chapter 4 should bring with it a brand new map, with it being rumored that Chapter 3 was being cut short due to the inclusion of Zero Build and Epic Games wanting to create a new map that worked better without builds.

Players can also expect many new mechanics to come to Fortnite during the early part of Chapter 4.

Prominent Fortnite leaker HYPEX has revealed that players can expect many new changes to come to Chapter 4.

As expected, Creative 2.0 is set to launch soon, which will allow players to create new maps and modes far more advanced than anything currently possible in the game.

It was expected that Creative 2.0 would launch alongside Chapter 4, but it has now been delayed until January 2023, according to Epic Games founder Tim Sweeney.

Epic Games has long planned for Fortnite to expand beyond a Battle Royale game, similar to how games such as Minecraft and Roblox are very versatile, and the only limitation is your imagination and creativity.

In addition to Creative 2.0, we can also expect to see the following additions throughout Chapter 4:

  • New cosmetic type (Codename: Apparel)
  • Rideable flying animals
  • First person mode
  • Motorcycles
