First Minutes of Demon Slayer Gameplay Revealed Online

Today, the first minutes of in-battle gameplay of CyberConnect2’s new game, Demon Slayer: Hinokami Keppuutan, inspired by the acclaimed manga series, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, written and illustrated by Koyoharu Gotouge, surfaced online, showing fans the highly anticipated gameplay. On the video, we can see that the game looks like an even more polished version of the developer’s characteristic style, seen in its genre-defining Naruto series, mixed with the amazing aesthetic of anime studio Ufotable. The characters featured are the series protagonist Tanjiro Kamado, Nezuko Kamado, Zenitsu Agatsuma, and Inosuke Hashibira.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba premiered on Weekly Shonen Jump in February 2015 and ended last year, with the release of its 205th chapter. Viz Media has the rights to the series in North America. You can see the series summary below, as shown on Viz’s official site. 

”In Taisho-era Japan, Tanjiro Kamado is a kindhearted boy who makes a living selling charcoal. But his peaceful life is shattered when a demon slaughters his entire family. His little sister Nezuko is the only survivor, but she has been transformed into a demon herself! Tanjiro sets out on a dangerous journey to find a way to return his sister to normal and destroy the demon who ruined his life.”

You can read the manga through Viz Media‘s official site, or Shueshia’s Manga Plus. The second season of its anime adaptation was confirmed today to premiere in 2021, you can watch the first season on Netflix and Funimation right now.  

The new Demon Slayer game will be released later this year, for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One X, Xbox Series X/S, and PC through Steam.
