Final Fantasy 16: Producer Reveals New Details About the Game

Final Fantasy 16 Main Character Key Art Promo Reveal

During an interview on the radio show One Morning on Tokyo FM, Naoki Yoshida, the producer behind Final Fantasy 16, revealed a little more about how the new title plans on honoring the whole history of the franchise, and its fans.

In the interview, he revealed the title will focus a lot on his combat, being action-oriented, but will also have a mode made for those that wish to only experience its history, without that much focus in combat.

You can see below a translated transcript of the interview, in which Yoshida talks about what they hope to accomplish in the title, courtesy of Gematsu.

”I’m from the generation that has been playing the Final Fantasy series from the first game in real-time—I’m almost in my 50s. I think the Warriors of Light have grown up in their own worlds, so I want to create a world of Final Fantasy that those who know the good and bad of reality can also be passionate about. I believe there are certain hardships that are experienced when becoming an adult, so I want to make the main theme of this game something that those who grew up playing Final Fantasy and understand reality can still enjoy, get something out of, and think about.”

Final Fantasy 16 was revealed last September during the PlayStation 5 Showcase event, the game will be produced by Yoshida and directed by Hiroshi Takai, who both worked on Final Fantasy XIV.
