Final Fantasy 16 PC release date announced, demo out now
Ever since the game launched in 2023, players have been patiently waiting for the announcement that Final Fantasy 16 will be coming to PC. That day has finally come as Square Enix has officially announced the PC port of the game, and players don’t have long to wait.
It has been revealed that Final Fantasy 16 will be coming to PC in just four weeks on September 17th, 2024 on both Steam and Epic Games Store. To top it off, there is a demo that can be downloaded now so you can try out the game ahead of its launch next month.
Players who either pre-order Final Fantasy 16 or purchase it before October 17th will be able to unlock Cait Sith’s Charm Accessory, Sixteen Bells Orchestrion Roll Valuable Item, and the Brave Blade Weapon as an exclusive bonus.
In addition to the base game, players can also purchase the Complete Edition, which will come with The Rising Tide and Echoes of the Fallen DLC. The Complete Edition will also include the following redeemable items:
- Buster Sword
- Curtana
- “Away (1987)” Orchestrion Roll
- “Torn from the Heavens” Orchestrion Roll
- “Through the Maelstrom” Orchestrion Roll
Before Final Fantasy 16 launches next month, you may want to clear out your hard drive as the game demands a staggering 170GB of SSD storage. Check out the PC requirements below to see if you can handle it.

If you’re itching to jump into this former PS5 exclusive, you can download a demo for Final Fantasy 16 , which will allow players to experience the opening section of the game, as well as the Eikonic Challenge mode that was made specifically for the demo. Save data from the demo can also be carried over to the main game.
Although this news is incredibly exciting, many fans of the series are also eagerly awaiting any news regarding the Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth PC port, but that will likely be coming in 2025 or even 2026.
