EU Fortnite players to get a free skin to celebrate its return to iOS
Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4 is almost here and it will be another Marvel-themed season, which is sure to be one of the most highly anticipated seasons that we’ve seen in some time. Mobile users also have reasons to be excited because Fortnite is set to officially return to mobile devices for the first time in four years. To celebrate this exciting news, Epic Games is releasing an exclusive free skin, unfortunately, it will only be available to European players for now.
Fortnite leaker HYPEX took to X to reveal that EU players will be able to unlock an exclusive skin during Chapter 5 Season 4 to celebrate the game returning to iOS devices. The Katalina skin will also include a pickaxe, back bling, wrap, a Rocket League/Rocket Racing vehicle, and a Fall Guys skin.
The cosmetics will be unlockable via in-game Quests when playing on mobile, and it will be accessible to both Android and iOS users. Players outside of the EU will be able to purchase it from the Fortnite Item Shop at some point after November 2nd.
Fortnite was removed from Android’s Google Play Store and the iOS App Store in 2020, leaving players permanently in Chapter 2 Season 3. The game remained available in the Samsung Galaxy Store and Epic Games released its own store that could be loaded onto Android devices so players could still access the game. After a near-four-year lawsuit, Fortnite is now set to return to iOS devices within Europe due to European regulators putting pressure on Apple due to the Digital Markets Act preventing Apple and Google from being able to control which apps are distributed on its devices.
In addition to recently having submitted the Epic Games Store to Apple for final notarization, it is set to be added to third-party independent stores, including AltStore, paving the way for Fortnite and Epic Games’ other IPs to return to Apple devices regardless of whether they get approved on the official App Store.

This will be great news for mobile gamers, as it comes just days before Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4 launches, which is set to be another Marvel-themed season, bringing Doctor Doom and other iconic characters back to the game for the first time in four years, as well as some new additions. Fortnite Festival will also be entering Season 5 with Karol G being the featured artist, following on from Metallica last season.
