Epic Games Store: The next free game has been announced
Epic Games Store was launched in 2019 as a direct competitor to Valve’s Steam platform. While not as popular, one of the best features of it is that every week Epic Games gives away a free game to its users.
While generally smaller indie titles, we have seen games such as GTA V, Star Wars Battlefront 2, NBA 2K21, Alien Isolation, and Oddworld: New N’ Tasty given away for free.
It is Thursday which means a new free game is available and here is everything you need to know.
The free Epic Games game goes live every Thursday at 11 am EST/4 pm BST.
What Game Is Free This Week?
Last week saw Among Us as the free game, which was fantastic to see as it is a very fun game that relies on other players for a fun experience, so making it even more accessible will no doubt boost the player count up considerably.
This week, the free game is Frostpunk, a survival game by 11 Bit Studios.
Here is some more information about Frostpunk if you’ve never heard of it.
“Frostpunk, the newest title from the creators of This War of Mine, is a society survival game where heat means life and every decision comes at a price. In an entirely frozen world, people develop steam-powered technology to oppose the overwhelming cold. You face the task of building the last city on Earth and securing the means necessary for your community to survive.
Optimization and resource management often clash with empathy and thoughtful decision-making. While city and society management will consume most of the ruler’s time, at some point exploration of the outside world is necessary to understand its history and present state.
What decisions will you make to ensure the survival of your society? What will you do when pushed to the limit? And who will you become in the process?”
