EA Play now has achievements on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate

Since achievements first became a staple in video games with the Xbox 360 in 2005, millions of gamers have worked hard to unlock the achievements and trophies on their favorite games.

Some gamers, such as Stallion83, have taken achievement hunting to a whole new level and amassed scores into the millions.

As a gamer, it is a turn-off for me if achievements aren’t in the game, which lowers my desire to play older titles on Steam as they generally don’t have them available. If the game never had achievements, such as a SNES game then it doesn’t bother me.

When it was announced that EA Play would be coming to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and Game Pass for PC, many players were excited because it would allow gamers to play franchises such as Battlefield, Mass Effect, Madden, and FIFA as part of their existing Xbox Game Pass membership.

But, PC players were left disappointed when it became apparent that achievements weren’t enabled in those games.

Now, a new update has finally enabled achievements on EA Play with Game Pass Ultimate…kind of.

While achievements have been enabled, these are the achievements that are part of EA’s Origin software, rather than native Xbox achievements.

This means that while the achievements will unlock, they will only display on your EA Origin account and won’t add to your Gamerscore.

Many players will be extremely disappointed by this as adding achievements to EA Play titles has been a highly requested feature among the community.

With EA achievements being added, it is unlikely that Xbox achievements will be implemented too, but only time will tell.
