Blizzard Entertainment announces Diablo 4 closed beta

Diablo 4 Closed Beta

Last Updated on: 21st September 2022, 12:26 am

Diablo 4 closed beta seems to be the answer for Blizzard Entertainment after a recent leak of its gameplay footage made rounds on social media.

Those who have been itching to get their hands on the most recent installment of the Diablo franchise will now get their chance as Blizzard announces the Diablo 4 closed beta. In similar news, a public beta server will open early next year. Those who have been putting hours into end-games of Diablo 2: Resurrected, Diablo 3, or Diablo: Immortal are the best candidates for the close beta, according to Blizzard.

We have decided to focus the Closed Beta on Diablo IV’s end-game offerings for a few reasons. The full story of Lilith’s return to Sanctuary is not something we would like to spoil prior to release—players will experience a post-campaign Sanctuary during the Closed End Game Beta.

Details of Closed End Game Beta

Helltide – This is a new region-wide event available for players who have conquered the World Tier Three: Nightmare difficulty. Players will notice a spike in the combat strength of the servants of Lilith. These empowered monsters that come with increased difficulty will also reward heroes with Cinders, a new form of currency that will be used to open Helltide Chests. These chests are found randomly throughout the region. They boast exclusive singular item slots, like Torso, Legs, or Two-Handed Weapons.

Nightmare Dungeons – Obtaining a Nightmare Sigil activates the nightmare-difficulty dungeons in Diablo 4. Similar to Helltide, these sigils will increase the difficulty of the atrocities that await the hero once they decide to enter the dungeon. Rewards for besting these dungeons also improve. The hero also gets a chance to obtain more powerful sigils that can continue to the nightmarish cycle.

Whispers of the Dead – Missions associated with the Tree of Whispers will be activated. Players will be able to see Whispers that are displayed on their map. Aside from gold and experience, rewards for completing quests from the Whispers will now include a certain number of Grim Favors. After obtaining 10 Grim Favors, the player can exchange them for loot at the Tree of Whispers.

Fields of Hatred – This is the PvP zone of the game. Players inside the Fields of Hatred will also be able to harvest Seeds of Hatred from defeated demons. These seeds need to be brought to the Altar of Extraction for them to be turned into Red Dust. The goal of the game is to be the player with the most number of Red Dusts. In turn, players can also decide to go against other heroes to obtain their Seeds of Hatred.

Paragon Boards – An end-game character growth system focused on pushing the stats of heroes to greater heights. Aside from experience, players will also get Paragon points that can be used to unlock new tiles, Sockets, and additional Paragon Boards, all aiming to ascend the power of the hero. This is activated after the player reaches level 50.
