Crucible players rejoice! Destiny 2 is finally partnering up with BattlEye, one of the biggest anti-cheat systems on the market. This will hopefully be a massive improvement for the game, and will hopefully incentivize more players to hop into the Crucible in the future.

Destiny 2 Anti-Cheat

It’s been a frustrating time for fans of Destiny 2’s PvP mode, as it has run rampant with blatant cheaters, hackers, and everything in between for quite a long while.

Bungie has been promising players some form of anti-cheat that will come to the game, but many have feared that it’s too little too late, however, it seems that Bungie’s promises were not empty.

Bungie has announced earlier today that they will be partnering with BattlEye to more effectively combat these players who are ruining the experience for other players.

What is BattlEye?

BattlEye has become known as the “gold standard” in anti-cheat systems across many games including DayZ, Rainbow Six Siege, Fortnite, and many others.

The partnership between Destiny 2 and BattlEye will soft launch next season – Season 15 – and it looks like we’ll get more information in the Destiny 2 Showcase on August 24 (next Tuesday!)

While it was expected for Bungie to announce some sort of anti-cheat system at the Destiny 2 Showcase next week, BattlEye was a huge announcement that nobody expected and nearly negated the need for a TWAB today! (Just kidding, please don’t do that to us Joe.)

This is a huge step for Destiny 2, and will hopefully improve the state of Crucible for many players. What do you think about Destiny 2 implementing BattlEye for its anti cheat system? Let us know your thoughts on Twitter (@TheClickGG)!
