The beta for Back 4 Blood, the survival shooter game produced by Turtle Rock Studios is starting this week. The game was revealed in December last year, and has gained notoriety for its striking similarities with the famous Valve game Left 4 Dead.

Back 4 Blood is considered to be a spiritual successor to the Left 4 Dead series, since Turtle Rock actually produced the first game back in 2008 before being acquired by Valve in the same year. The first beta for the game will run from August 5 to August 9, and the second one will be open from August 12 to August 16.

How to participate in the Back 4 Blood Beta

The first beta is a closed one, dedicated to players who already preordered the game. They will have their early access to enjoy the game starting August 5. The second beta, starting exactly 1 week after the first one’s debut, will be an open beta, and even those who didn’t actually preordered the game will be able to enjoy it for a few days.

But you can get access to the closed beta even without buying the game. In order to do this, you must have a Twitch account and follow the instructions in the Back 4 Blood official site

After linking your Twitch account to your Warner Bros. Games account, you’ll be able to drop an Early Access key to the Back 4 Blood beta by watching any streamer playing the game on Twitch with drops enabled for 60 minutes.

The beta will happen in all platforms, and crossplay will be present in the game’s final release, possibly also during the beta tests.

Back 4 Blood is set to release on October 12, and will be available for Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC. The game will be available via Xbox Game Pass right after its release.
