A recent tweet from the official ARC Raiders Twitter account confirmed that they have made a decision to delay the release date to 2023. According to the tweet, they “will be using this extra time to expand the experience, and allow it to reach its fullest potential.”

The game is a free-to-play cooperative third-person shooter and was initially set to be released sometime this year. It is set in a post-apocalyptic dystopian time where ARC, a mechanized monster that appears alien in origin, is set to wreak havoc in the land where the player resides. The developers mentioned on the official page of ARC Raiders that the mechanized threat should be taken on with a “squad of Raiders.”

No official information has been released after this. ARC Raiders is not the first game that has confirmed its decision to move its release date, Warhammer 40,000: Darktide was also delayed until November of this year but was originally set to be released back in 2021. This is almost the same scenario for The Lord of the Rings: Gollum and Immortality. Most games have mentioned that they want to ensure player satisfaction through a more expansive gameplay experience as a reason for their delay, similar to ARC Raiders.
