Tower of Fantasy: How to beat the Void Rift

Aside from the side quests, there are other ways to gain experience in Tower of Fantasy. One of the challenging parts of the game is the Void Rift.

The Void Rift is a challenge that can be accessed by getting the Adventure section of the menu. Just choose the Challenge tab, which should give you the option to choose the Void Rift. The game describes it as “One of the unusual phenomena found after the Cataclysm.”

The Void Rift challenge allows the player to clear it three times. The player gets one extra challenge every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday (server time). You can complete it a maximum of three times per week.

The goal of the mini challenge is to make sure that you gather three keys scattered across the map before the time runs out. The keys are held by mini-bosses on the map. Once the players gather the three keys, they can proceed to challenge the main boss of the event.

The basics of the Void Rift

Once you choose the Void Rift in the Adventure menu, you will be asked to either find a team or proceed with the challenge right away. A player must enter the Void Rift with a team. Ideally, you would go in with your crew members as random players may not be able to help you, especially if you have a high Combat Strength.

If you decide to find a team to enter the challenge, you may get in with three or four members. If you decide to use the server to automatically match you to random players also looking for teammates to challenge the Void Rift, you will have to wait for a few seconds to a minute in the queue until you get to a team. Approve the match, and you should get the Void Rift challenge.

Once in the mini-map, you will need to activate the square devices scattered throughout the map to enable the use of a bridge to connect you to where the monsters reside. You will notice a transparent triangle on top of random monsters. Those are the monsters that have unstable energy that grants the players with random buffs. They can be elemental, physical, or passive skills.

Getting to the main boss in Void Rift

Once you and your teammate have gathered enough unstable energy, you can start swapping them to maximize the possibility of your team winning the challenge. This is where communication is essential. You can go to a location where there are no enemies and then click the icon on the lower section of your screen that looks like a circle with a cyclone.

You can choose to forward them to your teammate or keep them for yourself. On the right side, you can choose your teammate’s name to see what unstable energy they were able to get. You can also request to switch what they gathered to you instead. Ideally, only one person would hold one specific buff. If only one person is holding all the available buff for a certain element, it will multiply the effect of the buff four times.

Players will also encounter monsters holding the secret key to the main boss. These monsters will be scattered throughout the map, and the team will defeat them at the earliest possibility to have enough time for the main boss. Once you have the three secret keys, you can click the upper part of your screen where it originally says “Key Progress.”

Defeating the main boss in Void Rift

Before engaging the main boss of the challenge, make sure that all your team members are in the same location. You can send them a message or just wait for them. Ideally, you should have already engaged the enemy with at least ten minutes left on the clock.

The bosses in the Void Rift change weekly. At the start of the challenge, you will get a glimpse of the characteristics of the boss. It may be weak against a certain element or resistant to another. Important information you need to note will increase your chances of winning the challenge.

There may be a time when you would fall off the arena while engaging the main boss. If this happens, just click the upper right of the screen again to go back to the arena. Be mindful of the time as this is one of the most common reasons players fail the Void Rift challenge. If your team can defeat the main boss within the designated time, everyone in the team gets a reward.

Rewards and spoils of the Void Rift

Successfully winning against the main boss of the challenge will end the event. Simply exit the screen, and it takes you back to the main map.

Players will have a small chance of getting a gold Proof of Purchase, a random SSR matrix chip, or a random SR matrix chip. You will also get a random amount of gold and a certain number of data pack II. There are also instances where the player would get a few random R matrix chips.

Make sure to go back to the Adventure menu, as you will also need to check the boss section to obtain Dark Crystals. If it is your first time defeating that boss, you can click the icon on the upper right of the screen where it has a magnifying glass just above the word “boss.” After doing this, you will get to a list of bosses in the Void Rift. Successfully defeating a boss will reward the player extra 20 dark crystals.
