New Pokemon Snap is finally here, the first new entry in the series since Pokemon released on N64 way back in 1999.

The series is a fun side game that allows players to take photographs of Pokemon in their natural habitats rather than capturing and battling them.

Here is how to create your character in New Pokemon Snap

Character Creation Guide

Creating your own character is a key part of any game, allowing you to create a character that best suits you and the journey you’re about to embark on.

Here is a step by step guide on choosing the perfect character.

Language Selector

Upon first starting the game you will be prompted to select your language, make sure you choose correctly as this can’t be changed later on.

You can however go back and redo aspects of the creation process before you finalize, so its not a big deal if you accidentally select the wrong one.

While there isn’t much recorded dialogue in the game, there is still some voice overs to go along with the text.

Players can choose between English, Japanese, or no voices at all.

This can be changed later and won’t affect the choice of text language you chose previously.

Choose Your Characters

The character options are quite limited in New Pokemon Snap, I believe they’re the same as the options in Pokemon Sowrd & Shield, the backgrounds look to be from those games too.

You can’t preview your character before confirming, which is a bit annoying, but if you’ve played Pokemon Sword or Shield you’ll have a good idea as to what your character looks like, this is mainly choosing whether your character is male or female, the skin tone and hair colour.

Your character also isn’t very visible in the game as the game is played in first person, so this isn’t really that important.

Your Name

Next, the game will ask you to choose your nickname, this could be your real name or your gamer tag, it does have a character limit of 12 though.

This can be changed later so if you make a mistake it’s no biggie.

Confirm Your Character

Once you gone through all of the menus you will be asked whether this is all correct.

This is your last chance to go back and change things such as your characters appearance and language.

If you’ve made a mistake and select Yes then you will have to delete your save file and start over.
