Monster Hunter Rise: Where is Buddy Handler Lori?

At a certain point in Monster Hunter Rise, you’ll be directed to go see Buddy Handler Lori, but where even is Lori, exactly? There’s a chance you’ll have met them before this point, but if you haven’t it’s not particularly clear where you can find Buddy Handler Lori, leaving this village quest at a bit of a dead end.

Where is Buddy handler Lori in Monster Hunter Rise?

Buddy handler Lori isn’t actually in the main Kamura village area, which is why there aren’t directions to him immediately available for the quest. You need to head over the nearby wooden rope bridge in the village to access the buddy Plaza area where he is located.

Once you enter the area he’s located in, he’s pretty much just immediately behind you where you spawn.

Cross the bridge as shown, then enter the new area, wait out the cutscene (or skip it) and spin around to speak to Buddy Handler Lori and complete the village quest.

Even if you might struggle to find him, now that you’ve entered the correct area your quest marker should start working for you again, making it significantly easier to just spot him at a glance without checking the NPC names in the area.

You might also want to explore this area while you’re here, you can hire and train new buddies here, among other things – making it potentially a very useful area to get used to visiting. You can also do a bit of item trading using your buddies to stock up on items you’re otherwise struggling with, which I’d highly recommend doing.
