Guardians of the Galaxy has a great team of playable characters, of which the leader is Peter Quill, aka Star-Lord. Guardians of the Galaxy gives Star-Lord some pretty cool abilities, and here’s what you need to know about all of them.

Vantage Point

Star-Lord initiates a prolonged burn of his jet boots, rising to a tactically advantageous position to give orders or attack enemies.

  • Target: 1/4
  • Stagger: 0/4
  • Damage 0/4
  • Cooldown: 1/4

If you want to fly around using Star-Lord’s jet boots and shoot bad guys, then you’ll definitely be using this ability more often than not. While it doesn’t directly deal any damage or stagger, it will allow you to take more control over your vertical movement to deal more damage from afar.

Fan The Hammer

Star-Lord unleashes rapid fire blaster shots, dealing Heavy Damage spread across one or more enemies

  • Target: 2/4
  • Stagger: 0/4
  • Damage: 3/4
  • Cooldown: 1/4

If you want to unleash your off-brand Iron Man abilities, then Fan The Hammer is definitely going to be your go-to move.

Eye of the Hurricane

Star-Lord spirals up into the air, lobbing several grenades at the enemies below. All foes caught in the blast area receive Moderate Damage and Heavy Stagger.

  • Target: 2/4
  • Stagger: 2/4
  • Damage: 2/4
  • Cooldown: 1/4

Players that have a taste for theatrics will want to keep this move in their back pocket, because it’s one of the most unique and visually stunning abilities that I’ve seen before.

Shield of Spartax

Star-Lord is covered by an impenetrable shield which provides complete resistance to all attacks for a short duration. However, you won’t be able to unlock this ability for yourself. You’ll have to progress through the story to unlock this ability (though, that’s treading into spoiler territory, so you’ll have to see how for yourself.)

Guardians of the Galaxy will be available for PC, GeForce Now, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch via a cloud version on October 26.
