Guardians of the Galaxy has a great team of playable characters including Rocket (definitely not a raccoon). Guardians of the Galaxy gives Rocket some pretty explosive abilities, and here’s what you need to know about them.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Rocket abilities

Cluster Flark Bomb

Rocket blasts all enemies caught in a radius around the initial target with Moderate Damage.

  • Target: 2/4
  • Stagger: 0/4
  • Damage: 2/4
  • Cooldown: 2/4

If you like grenades, then Rocket is definitely going to be your favorite support member of the Guardians. This ability creates a pretty big explosion that packs a solid punch.

Gravistack Grenade

Rocket tosses a grenade at an enemy, drawing others toward the initial target’s position, and grouping them for a follow-up attack.

  • Target: 2/4
  • Stagger: 0/4
  • Damage: 0/4
  • Cooldown: 1/4

Gravity grenades? Yes, please! With this ability, it’s clear that Rocket is definitely the best tech expert in the game. Who else could develop a gravity grenade to lock your enemies right where you want them for a follow-up attack?

Glowing Pains Grenade

Rocket lobs a grenade that releases several darts on impact. These shock and deal Light Stagger to each enemy hit for a short duration. Enemies affected also take more Stagger damage while under the effect.

  • Target: 2/4
  • Stagger: 2/4
  • Damage: 0/4
  • Cooldown: 3/4

While this isn’t the biggest or baddest ability in the game, it will definitely end up being one of the most useful to prevent yourself from being completely overwhelmed with hordes of enemies.

Mega ability: Five Barrel Barrage

This is unlocked much later in the story, and it allows Rocket to reveal his entire massive arsenal and let it all lose for a burst of Massive Damage to the target area. As with the other mega abilities, there’s spoilers attached, so you’ll have to see for yourself how Rocket unlocks this one.

Guardians of the Galaxy will be available for PC, GeForce Now, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch via a cloud version on October 26.
