The Sims 4 Free to Play will be available on all platforms
The Sims has been played by millions across the globe since its initial launch in February 2000, with the franchise forever growing allowing players to unleash their creativity as their Sims embark on careers, design houses, and form relationships.
For the first time, EA games have announced a free version of the game, with The Sims 4 free to play, which is set to welcome more players than ever to the game.

The Sims 4 Free to Play – The details
It’s finally happening! On October 18, 2022, The Sims 4 game will be available to all new players to download for free on PC via the EA app or Origin, Mac via Origin, Steam, PlayStation5, PlayStation4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One systems.

In the free-to-play announcement, Maxis said that “the team is more dedicated than ever to developing new and meaningful experiences for players and will continue to develop and release packs, Kits and Sims Delivery Express drops into the foreseeable future.”
EA Play and EA Play Pro members will receive an upgrade with the launch of The Sims 4 Free to Play, with member-only bundles of The Sims 4 entering The Play List on October 18. The Sims 4 EA Play Edition includes The Sims 4 Get To Work Expansion Pack, while the EA Play Pro Edition will include The Sims 4 Get To Work Expansion Pack and The Sims 4 Toddler Stuff Pack.

It has also been announced that EA Games will be hosting a special edition stream, sharing more about what’s happening with The Sims in the ‘Behind The Sims Summit’ on October 18, 2022, at 10 am PDT via The Sims YouTube and Twitch channels.
Do not despair if you have already purchased The Sims 4 game. If purchased between September 14, 2022, and October 17, 2022, you will receive the Desert Luxe Kit as a gift, giving players a modern oasis for their Sims, with new furniture and items inspired by the Southwestern desert.
