The Halo TV series isn’t going down well with the Halo Community

Now that we’re a ways into the hyped-up Halo TV Series on Paramount Plus, how exactly is the Halo Community and playerbase reaction to it going?

This article will most likely contain spoilers for the Halo TV series, you have been warned.

Halo TV Series not getting the best reviews from Halo Players

After years of hype from Halo players for getting just about any non-book, non-game Halo Media, we’ve got the Paramount Plus Halo TV series to watch, and oh boy, judging by the 1.2M member Halo Subreddit reaction, fans are not happy.

How do I draw this conclusion, you may be wondering?

Ranging from a response to that scene, fairly deserved backlash against the lazy use of ‘Reach City’, rather than using an established name such as New Alexandria that features in the game Halo Reach, and a parody of how the show’s ‘unique interpretation’ of the series canon will impact the Halo array.

That last one is an easy favourite.

Reach City in particular is one of the glaring minor notes that discounts the credibility of the show heavily to me.

It would have taken very little effort to google ‘Cities on Reach Halo‘, and be presented with at least 4 names in a featured snippet that would have totally unmissable. Those names for reference are New Alexandria, Manassas, Quezon and Esztergom.

Of course, this tiny little bit of text is only one detail. It’s not a particularly important detail, and it’s unlikely to have much bearing on anything that they were lazy there, but those small things the showrunners were too lazy to put the minimal effort into getting right are the things the Halo playerbase at large will notice.

And given what they’ve noticed so far, it seems that many in the Halo community are drawing the conclusion the Halo TV series is simply not intended for them, despite the years they were waiting for it.
