What are Fallen Stars used for in Terraria
Fallen stars occur each and every night in Terraria, randomly falling all over the map, but do you need them for anything, and if so, what?
What are Fallen Stars for in Terraria?
Fallen Stars are primarily an unusual crafting material in Terraria, used for a variety of purposes. This includes a few weapons, vanity items, and most importantly, Mana Crystals.
These Stars only spawn at night time and despawn when the day starts again, so you’ll need to gather them during the night if you find yourself in need of them. During the day, they will only not despawn if placed in your inventory or a storage container. Even throwing them to another player during the day will cause them to despawn.
They also have the fairly unique but fun trait of being capable of dealing damage as they are spawned, as they will quite literally fall from the sky, and damage anything they hit other than players on the way down. Perhaps even more curiously, anything killed by a Fallen Star will grant the Player the kill as if they had dealt the damage.
More Stars will spawn at night in a larger size world than a smaller one, but no matter the size the Stars will fall in random locations from the upper levels of the map downwards until they hit something.
Typically this means you’ll find them on the usual surface level of the world. That doesn’t mean you won’t be able to find them in unusual places too though, they can fall into the ocean, or into corruption biome tunnels – pretty much anywhere that isn’t blocked off.
Still, they fall every night, so you only need to gather a few each night to end up with a good stockpile quickly. Finding them all is unnecessary.
