After being announced back in February, Pokemon Legends: Arceus just received a new trailer! The trailer was exhibited during the most recent Pokemon Presents live stream on The Official Pokémon Youtube channel.

The game will bring a completely new view on the series, being an open world game. You can freely explore the world, sneak through dangerous sleeping pokémon and even fly on your own pokémons, in a similar way to Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire.

Players will be able to catch pokémon without having to battle them. But if you miss, it can engage you in a battle. You can use the environment in your favor to turn the tides during the battle, similar to other open world games.

The trailer showcases the new region of Hisui, which in time will be known as the Sinnoh region. To reflect this, the playable characters are similar to the original Sinnoh protagonists, Lucas and Dawn.

Players will be able to pick either Cyndaquil, Oshawott and Rowlet as their starters, and other starter pokemon from different generations can also be found in the wild.

The highlight goes for the new pokémon showcased: Wyrdeer and Basculegion, as well as the Hisuian forms of Growlithe and Braviary. Growlithe stands out the most as one of the most cherished pokémons of the 1st Gen, now becoming a Fire/Rock type.

The official site states that more Hisuian Pokémon will be found, and we should soon see some more of those revealed.

In the trailer, we can also see some pokémons being “possessed” by some unknown force. These seem to be more aggressive than usual, but after the player catches them, they seem to revert to normal.
